Ida Lupino did it ALL - before Kazan, before Cassavetes, She was the original INDEPENDENT (and then some!!) This website in her honor & memory is such a wonderful thing to see!
I love "The Hard Way".
Looking for a movie my mother vaguely remembers with Ida. She remembers a spiral staircase, a picture on the wall, perhaps a sea captain. She seems to think the captain was manipulating the woman into believing she was his wife. Sound familiar, not much to go on I know. Any help would be appreciated
To the Ida Lupino blog community, I would like to see Ms. Lupino honored by the Academy of film or TV. In her lifetime, Ida Lupino was a great actress and director. Yet, she was never honored. People with a lot less talent won Oscars or Emmys, yet nobody in the industry has seen fit to give this wonderful star the honors that she deserves.
Am gestrigen Abend (24.10.2011)hatte ich zufällig einen Film im Fernsehen (ARTE - They drive by night - Sie fahren bei Nacht) gesehen, in der u.a. Ida Lupino mitspielte. Ich kannte bis dato die Schauspielerin nicht, war aber über ihre Schauspielleistung schlichtweg begeistert. Mimik, Haltung und Bewegung stachen sehr hervor. Meiner Meinung nach die beste Schauspielerin in diesem Film - mit weitem Abstand. Gerne sehe ich mir jetzt bewusst andere Filme dieser herrlichen Schauspielerin an.
